Klara Tisocki
Klara Tisocki is trained as a clinical pharmacologist and has over 27 years of working experience in improving pharmaceutical systems in low- and middle-income countries. She graduated in Budapest Hungary as a pharmacist and received her Master’s in Clinical Pharmacology and PhD. In the United Kingdom. She has worked with countries to improve access to essential medicines across Africa, South East Asia and Asia Pacific regions with a number of development agencies and global health organizations including the Global Fund for HIV, tb and malaria. She contributed to work in countries on pharmaceutical policy development and implementation in the areas of medicines selection, access strategies, affordability and pricing, medicines regulation and quality assurance, procurement and supply chain management, appropriate use of medicines, including antimicrobial stewardship to mitigate impact of antimicrobial resistance. Since 2012, Klara has led WHO’s work on access to medicines as the Regional Medicines Adviser in both the WHO Western Pacific and WHO South East Asia regional offices. Her journey led her to the WHO headquarters Medicines and Health product Division in 2020, where she now leads the Health Technology Access Management team in the Department of Innovation and Emerging Technologies. |
